I look forward to travelling with you.
nd November - Arrive in Brazil - this is usually an overnight flight so we would start late afternoon on the 1st from the UK. Internal flight to Paulo Afonso or Recife followed by a road transfer to our first lodge. We may have some time to see some of the cliffs where the Lears Macaws live.
rd Nov - Lear's Macaws feeding areas to visit
th Nov - Lears Macaws feeding areas to visit followed by a transfer to the Lears Macaw Lodge at Canudos
th Nov - Very early morning visit to the cliff tops for the morning flight of the Lears Macaws followed by watching the Lears in their nest sites in the valleys nearby. Back for breakfast. Walking in the valleys for the Blue-crowned and Cactus Conures and Blue-fronted Amazons.
Afternoon visit to roost and nesting site for Blue-winged (Illigers) Macaws
th Nov - Another visit to the cliff tops then after breakfast we will transfer to Petrolina.
th Nov - Petrolina area for Blue-winged Macaws and more
th Nov - Early morning flight to Campo Grande and time to rest or check out some of the nest sites in the city for Macaws and other Parrots
th Nov - Transfer into the Pantanal to our lodge for the next 4 nights.
In the Pantanal there will be lots more wildlife and Parrots including Hyacinth and Blue and Yellow Macaws around the lodge so we will see these everyday. We are likely to see around 150 bird species here as the land is far more lush than the Lears Macaw sites where it is very barren. We will do a series of tours around the area some by boat to see the water birds and Giant Otters and hopefully Jaguar (cannot guarantee very elusive) and some by truck to see Giant Anteaters and other Parrot sites including Yellow-collared Macaw. However there are lots to see just around the lodge itself without travelling any further.
th Nov - Aguape Lodge
th Nov - Aguape Lodge
th Nov - Aguape Lodge
th Nov - Transfer to Bonito and onto Buraco das Araras for the Macaw hole for Green-winged Macaws and Peach-fronted Conures and later a roost site for Blue-fronted Amazons and Yellow-faced Parrots
th Nov - Early morning visit to Buraco das Araras again and then Rio Prata late morning for a snorkel down the river and more Parrots here. followed by afternoon transfer by road back to Campo Grande
th Nov - Flights home
