DAY 1: Arrive in Honduras at San Pedro Sula with a transfer to PANACAM LODGE and birding at Visitors center transfer will be around 1 ½ hours

DAY 2: We’ll head for Lake Yojoa, a very large, natural lake in central part of Honduras. This is a great place for water birds including Black Bellied whistling Ducks and Muscovy Ducks, Spotted Rail, Ruddy Crake, Gray Breasted crake, Northern Jacana and many more. We might get lucky and find other good species as well. after lunch We’ll visit Los Naranjos National park which is Home for many expetacular birds such as Rufous Breasted spinetail, Rufous and White Wren and more., our main targets today will be White fronted Amazon, White crowned Parrot, Barred Parakeet, Olive throated parakeet and Brown hooded Parrot.

DAY 3: We’ll spend time birding around Panacam Lodge trying to see some of the species we missed from yesterday, and later we depart to La Tigra National Park (transfer 3 ½ hours) where we will bird the surroundings of the city in search of Orange fronted Parakeet and Orange chinned Parakeet,

Day 4 More birding around Tegucigalpa and transfer to La Union Olancho transfer will take 4 hours
Day 5,6, Birding Olancho and La Muralla
Since the discovery of a large population in 2008 near La Union, the rare and difficult Ocellated Quail is now perhaps easier to see in Honduras than anywhere else within its limited range. We will focus our time here into obtaining decent views of this shy inhabitant of pine-oak woodland, searching proven sites where this species is most often recorded. With a bit of luck and skill, we stand a good chance of seeing this great bird. If we manage to see the quail well, we will explore the nearby cloud forest at La Muralla for species such as Ornate Hawk-Eagle, Unicolored Jay, and the ‘red-throated’ subspecies of Green Parakeet., other parrots present here are Red lored Amazon, White crowned Parrot, Barred Parekeet and Olive throated Parakeet,

Day 7 Transfer to La Ceiba (5 hours) and birding the afternoon around Rio Cangrejal

Day 8, travel to La Moskitia in search of Yellow crowned Amazon, Mealy Amazon, Scarlet Macaws, Great Green Macaws and more!
This trip provides an excellent opportunity for visitors with limited time who would like to explore La Moskitia and part of the Rio Plátano Biosphere Reserve. During this 5 day route you will see people and villages of two ethnic cultures of Honduras: Miskito and Pech, as well as different ecosystems such as beaches, mangroves, coastal lagoons, and tropical rain forests. We shall also cross over the territory where the English corsairs used to hide themselves centuries ago. This area of high cultural interaction can also boast of its beautiful scenery around the Ibans Lagoon, Pico Baltimore and its extensive wetlands. Chances are pretty high to observe a great variety of birds such as toucans, parrots, parakeets, orioles, cranes, macaws, king fishers, and many others that will delight us with their songs and elegant colours and whenever luck accompanies us we might even spot some large mammals and reptiles, like the impressive tapir, a lonely jaguar, up to three different species of monkeys, as well as reptiles such as crocodiles and turtles lying in the sun.
Your trip towards la Mosquitia begins at AT 5:00 AM with transfer to airport of La Ceiba. Flight should start at 6:00 am. On a 50 min. flight to Brus Laguna, here our botman will get us all the way up to Las Marias. After breakfast you take a motorboat trip navigating along channels and mangrove lagoons to reach Rio Platano riverbed and then continue upstream to Las Marias. You will often cross paths with miskito people carrying their agricultural goods along the river. The whole stretch along the river is very appropriate for bird watching. During the trip a convenient break is done to have lunch, stretch your legs and attend other necessities. Estimated trip duration: 7 hrs. BLD

DAY 9: LAS MARIAS- PETROGLYPHS
After you eat your breakfast (7:00AM), you will embark on the full day trip to the Petroglyphs of Walpaulbansirpe. To begin the day, you will be led by your local guide through Las Marías (40 min.) eventually arriving at Batiltuk. You will meet up with the rest of the crew of a traditional mahogany dugout canoe (pushed with poles and paddles) which will take you up the Rio Plátano to reach the Trail of Kuyusty. Here we will start a two hour hike into the rain forest. After lunch at Waiknatara Pech Indian farm the trip continues upriver for another 50 min. until you reach the Petroglyphs of Walpaulbansirpe. The trip back to Las Marias will take barely 2 hours. Soon after arrival it will already be time for you to eat your hot dinner at the hostel and enjoy your second night of rest at the Pech- Miskito town by Platano River. BLD
DAY 10: Full day Hiking To Tiro Creek – LAS MARIAS
Hike towards Tiro Creek for about five hours, about 3 km southwest of Las Marías on the Río Plátano) Most of the trip takes place through pristine rainforest where chances to spot monkeys, agouties, coatis and scarlet macaws are pretty good. You will be walking on irregular terrains with short steep slopes and some sallow creeks which will need to be crossed. The trail on this day goes steep across pristine primary rainforest and your hike in fellowship with your guide while listening to the lively sounds from the wild. Water is available in the hostel. DAY 11: OVERNIGHT AT BRUS LAGUNA
After breakfast we start our trip back downstream by motorboat to Brus Laguna, taking about 6 hrs hours for the whole stretch with a rest stop at Rio Platano sand bar. Lunch will be available at Brus Laguna just after we get to Hotel Ciudad Blanca. In the afternoon we will take a motor boat trip to go birding the wet land channels near Brus Laguna.
DAY 12 Return to La Ceiba and Travel to Roatan
After breakfast at 7:00 am we will wait for the airline to reconfirm the return time to La Ceiba and then transfer by trucks to landing strip of Brus Laguna. In normal conditions we should get back in La Ceiba at around 10:00 am this day we will fly to Roatan and spend there the next 3 nights
Day 13 in search of Yucatan Parrot.
this day we will spend the morning and afternoon looking for Yucatan Parrots (Yellow-lored) and Yellow naped Amazons, Turquoise bay has been for the last few years the best spot to finds Yucatan parrots in the islands, this could be the rarest parrots in Honduras due to their habitats, We will also explore the pine forest of the island in search of other species such as Red lored Amazon which had been poorly reported.
Day 14 travel to Barbaretta in search of Amazona Auropalliata
Barbaretta Island has been for the last decades the largest refugee for Yellow naped Amazon, this place boasts approximately a population of more than 4 thousand parrots, we will travel in a boat to the island early morning so we can see the migrations they do all over the area, some of them move to Guanaja and others to Santa Elena or Roatan, as sunset arrives the clouds get full of hundreds of this creatures coming to theirs roosts,
We might spend full day in the area depending on the group.
