CONSERVATION

Conservation, especially when it involves parrots, is close to my heart. On all of my Parrot Watching Eco-tours to South and Central America I try to visit at least one Parrot Conservation Project. By visiting these projects it means that we are contributing in many ways:-
1) Financially - Most conservation projects charge for the privilege of visiting which in some cases can be by staying in a lodge in the area of the project or obtaining permits to actually be there.
2) Awareness - Most of my clients are very knowledgeable about Parrots but they learn a lot more by visiting these projects which is usually passed on once they return home in published articles and books.
3) Donations - Many of my clients have gone on to support the projects they have visited by running their own local events.
4) Local Awareness - Local communities benefit in a number of ways as well.
       a) Locals are employed at lodges or as drivers, boatmen or guides.
       b) Local produce is used in lodges.
       c) Local shops, services
       d) Locals also learn that the wildlife around them can create another income which is generally far better than poaching and obviously much more sustainable.
I want to help Parrot Conservation more so I am asking for
donations towards several Projects that will be highlighted here

The first Parrot Conservation Projects that I would like to help are the ones for the Lear's Macaws. There are more details about each of the many projects aimed towards helping the Lear's Macaws by clicking on the button on the right.
