​PERU - MARCH 2022
With a possibility of up to 24 Parrot species including 5 Macaw species we will stay in just 2 lodges a short distance apart in the jungle not far from Iquitos in the North-east of Peru.

This Parrot Watching Eco-tour can be booked as an individual tour or can be in addition to the next trip to

PRICE of Parrot Eco-tour
​All costs are in $US

$ 2995 (£2200) per person sharing a double/twin room
$ 290 (£220) single supplement (if you do not mind sharing a room I can sometimes organise this to avoid paying the supplement)
DEPOSIT

$ 685 (£500) per person
All prices include accommodation, meals, english speaking guide, drivers and/or boatmen, ground transport within the trip specification, bottled water, entry fees to National Parks and/or Conservation Projects within the itinerary.


Prices do not include flights, insurance, tips, souvenirs, anything of a personal nature including laundry, any additional activities not listed in the itinerary.
Although, as always, our main focus on this trip will be the Parrots and all other wildlife however there are many extras which we can take advantage of if we have achieved our main aims.
Swimming in a lake, fish for piranha, visit native village, artisania cooperative, native farm, school or even give ourselves a big adrenalin rush on the comprehensive canopy zipline.
All at no extra cost.
PARROT WATCHING ECO-TOUR
3rd March
Arrive in Lima. Giving all the group the chance to introduce ourselves to each other before we start the trip.
Overnight Lima
4th March
Morning flight to Iquitos where we will be met and transferred to our motorboat for a 4 hour journey into the jungle on our way to Tahuayo Lodge. On the way we should see lots of wildlife.
Overnight Tahuayo Lodge.
5th March
An early start before breakfast will become the normal on this trip as we proceed on our objective of looking for Parrots and along with our local guide it shouldn't take too long to spot the first ones.
Parrots can be active at any time during the day. Even in the midday heat they can be found eating or resting

Morning transfer back to the Tahuayo Lodge for lunch and then transfer back to Iquitos.
Overnight Iquitos

Morning free to explore Iquitos or we can organise a city tour, Amazon rescue centre or just chill out before our flights home.
Whatever we decide to do on this last morning may have an extra charge but nothing more than about $50 per person.
Afternoon transfer to airport for flight from Iquitos to Lima and then onto our evening international flights home.
UNLESS YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN ME ON THE CONTINUATION OF THIS TRIP FROM THE CLOUD FOREST ON THE EASTERN SLOPES OF THE ANDES NEAR CUSCO CONTINUING DOWN INTO THE JUNGLE FOR THE VARIOUS CLAY LICKS IN THE MANU REGION OF PERU.
THERE WILL BE MANY DIFFERENT SPECIES OF PARROTS.

Please note:-
I cannot guarantee seeing all or any of these Parrots however we will have a great guide to help us in every way possible.
We will see lots of other bird and animal species.

A note on our two lodges:-
The Tahuayo Lodge (main lodge)
  •  Cabins have private bathrooms
  •  Greater variety of activities
The Research Center Lodge (ARC)
  •  Cabins have shared bathrooms
  •  Better hiking, over 50 miles of trails through a variety of ecosystems
  •  More wildlife
  • Lodge is more remote, in more pristine forest
